Craig Wright

Las Vegas Telecom, owned by Craig Wright, can attest to over 50 years experience in the telecom field.

Mr. Wright began working for AT&T in 1968 with Western Electric, the installation division of AT&T. He installed PBX equipment in the San Francisco Bay Area until 1976 when he transferred to Pacific Telephone to work in the Special Services department installing Data circuits for large companies in Silicon Valley.

Says Wright, “Back then a 9600 baud modem was 2′ wide & weighed 40 pounds. We tested each circuit end to end, from San Jose to New York, for example, and it took as long as 2-3 weeks to test & turn it up!”

At the breakup of AT&T in 1980, Wright went back to AT&T to work at the Data Test Center in San Ramon California in the tech support department. After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Information Management in 1985 he quit AT&T to start his own company, DataTalk. DataTalk became a Northern California leader in telecommunications and specialized in AT&T product installation and support as well as voice and network data cabling. In 2000 Wright began to explore the expansion of DataTalk and in April 2001 began operating DataTalk-LV in Northwest Las Vegas. As business grew so did his responsibilities and in September of 2001 Wright sold DataTalk in California and changed the name of the Las Vegas branch to Las Vegas Telecom.
